Clutch master cylinder?
I have a '95 F150 4x4 w/a 5 speed mazda tranny. It's got about 102,000 miles on it. At 80,000 miles or so, I had the clutch replaced and the slave cylinder. Then at about 85,000, the clutch master cylinder had to be replaced. I had it fixed then had to drive back to college, about 350 miles. The next morning when I started it I couldn't get it to shift into gear, as it had no resistance in the pedal till almost on the floor. I called the mechanic that did it, he said to pump the pedal about 25 times then try it, said it might have some air in it. It's been fine for about 15,000 miles since then, no problems, till recently. I was driving in city like driving conditions, stop lights everywhere. It started to get where it would release when the pedal was still very close to the floor, still shifted fine though, but had about 1 1/2-2" of free play at the top of the pedal. After a while of steady driving w/out stopping it is fine, or after it is shut down for a while it is fine as well, back to normal. Fluid level is full. What do yall think? Faulty clutch master cylinder or air somewhere getting into the system or something else?
