Engine is dead, what to do?
Glad to hear Ford is helping you on this one...
Some have nothing but negative things to say about Ford, but I think it says a lot when they step up and pay for part of a repair that they are under no obligation to cover...it's a great thing!
So, you have renewed faith in Ford...and I have renewed faith in doing MY OWN oil changes!!! I've always done them, but occasionally it seemed tempting to save some time and let the oil change place handle it...lesson well learned!
Thanks for updating us on how it's going...

I am surprised my 98 4.6L didn't explode. I maybe changed the oil twice a year or 7-8K miles and had Jiffy Lube do it each time. Had radiator flushed there also a few times over the time I had the truck. Can't for the life of me remember what weight of oil they put in.
I am thinking about heading down to the dealership the original owner bought my truck from for my oil change this weekend. Talk with the guy down there about the ESP again. Previous owner did everything thru that dealership.
