seized hood latch

seized hood latch
need to change my oil and went to open hood and the latch wont go.. i can feel the cable pull but afraid ill break it or the plastic pull lever. sprayed some try flow up on latch.. hope i hit it enough or right spot... any ideas?

You can try to have someone go inside the truck and pull the release while you tap the area of the hood where the latch is.That might pop it.
If you can get it released I'd recommend putting some white grease on the mechanism to free it up.

That's what we have to do with the '92-'96's have someone pull and hold the lever then usually you need to push the hood down then pull it up and it will release from that first latch. I actually use twine to hold the lever back then I can do the hood jiggle myself on a '92.
