Rep Points - Stupid People

[rant on]

If you don't know what the hell you are doing, stop clicking on freaking buttons!

Twice within the last week or so new users have given me negative reps on posts for NO reason.

When I ask them why? "oh, sorry man I have no idea what I'm doing here and didn't mean to"........ "how can I fix it"?

!!! YOU CAN'T !!!

If I'm a jerk (hardly ever ) and deserve it that's one thing. But when people knock you down because of stupidity, that really gets under my skin.

Man Stosh I've been on here for a while now and never even noticed those little buttons until you mentioned them. I just clicked on yours and approved your thread so maybe it will make up for some of the negative ones...lol

I had never paid attention tho 'em, either. I see I have several comments with green boxes
next to 'em but a few that are apparently neutral ratings (dark-grey-colored boxes) but the
comments appear to be good? Unless they're sarcasm, I guess. But, more to the point, I
don't pay attention, only recently noticed the things, and don't really care.

Brad - go to the User CP and look at yourself, people can assign ratings to posts you make
out here, those ratings are reflected by the colored squares in the upper RH corner of each
post you make.

Grey boxes in the CP indicate the user is new and their rep doesn't matter. Keeps trolls from joining and rep'ing people negatively, or positively too for that matter.

But like was said several times, who cares?

It's tough to give neg rep by mistake since the default is positive rep. You have to click on the rep button and then click on "I disapprove".

Giving out negative rep is bad form. It's hard to imagine how neg rep can be given out accidently, since the default is always positive rep. Yet I know it happens because I've received neg rep accompanied with some really nice comments from people. But, oh well... the kind words mean more than the rep points.

On a different note, I just gave you positive rep by mistake! Can I take that back?

it dosent really matter, if you see that i have -10 rep points or 10,000 that dosent change what i'm like or what i know.... if the worst thing that happens to me in life is that i get negeative rep all the time than i'm in good shape!

I really don't care either. But that was exactly my point.

You have to go out of your way to leave either neutral or negative points.

Why bother?

Thanks for your negative rep points by the way cadunkle.

Not that you would care, but YOU are now officially on my douche bag list too......

stosh, if it came up with negative what was the comment left, probably something good, like i said, if someone is d*ck or not im not leaving negative rep points. but again. if it happend it wasnt intentional, i have appologized several times. you been here longer then i have and this will get me more negative i know but, hey ive gotten over this, its in the past or it is for me. take care and have a great day anyways.

matt
