'05 rear axle seal. removal?
What holds the axles in on these? C-clip in the center section I'm thinking. just like my '78 had. I seen in a recent 4x4 mag that the '07 style dodges have what looks to be a unit hub bearing in the back, just like many rigs do up front 'nowadays. I was hoping my 150 was void of those. $$$ (I've put a few in dodge/jeep front axles). Anyway, looking at the parts blowup, I need a $5 seal and the bearing is only $60 while I'm in, (a regular style wheel bearing?) but it does not show the inner clip. am I asking an obvious question here? Is there a gasket under the rear cover, or just ford heavy silicone? Looking for any advice you guys can share. thanks
