Minnesota - Mandatory bio diesel
Minnesota - Mandatory bio diesel
Just for your info, Minnesota now requires all stations to have 5% bio diesel in the fuel. In other words you can't buy diesel in this state without having bio in it.
severe service schedule will have to be followed. 5K interval for the oil and 10K I think for the fuel filters.
Check the manual.
Will certainly cause more regens and 2-3 mpg on the economy. So how that helps when you have to visit the pump more often is beyond me.

Iowa was thinking of doing that but it didn't pass this year- hope they don't get it here but many of the stations along I-80 have it. I sure DON"T want to use it! Luckily I don't travel into Minnesota often, and if I do, I'm usually in my car... what a political joke...I'm getting so sick of this government mandated bulls**t!!!

Yep, the government regulations just keep coming. I have nothing against biodiesel but they will allow the price of corn to skyrocket AND they will allow the fuel price to skyrocket AND we have to burn more of it to get the same amount of energy that we get from straight diesel. You'd think we could come up with a fuel that improves things! I wish I could burn a percentage of transformer oil or vegetable oil.
Depending on foreign oil has got to stop though. What a tangled web they weave....

Ah, but that's not likely to end until we get past this "not in MY backyard!" syndrome. One of the reasons we are so dependent on foreign oil is that they are willing to do something we arent: DRILL FOR OIL!
We have lots of the stuff; good, non-bio stuff sitting right beneath our feet every day that we can't touch because some politician feels that oil wells are not aesthetically pleasing. So we let them do it, instead of us...and we have to pay their price...

I honestly believe all the posts above me are correct. Further, I saw on CNBC today that GM is going to quit manufacturing medium duty trucks in the very near future.
Gentlemen, be happy with our FORD trucks. Seldomly in life do we purchase a vehicle and sell it for more than the oiginal price. I think that will happen with out Super Duty Trucks.
Time will tell...

So many have tried. So many have failed. So many crooks. Redford, I came from coal country and lived that life. I agree. Coal is so much hotter so to speak than any other fossil fuel. The amount of BTU's that can be extracted from one pound of coal is phenomenal.
I became proficient in testing coal by using my cigarette lighter and ignighting a piece of coal. W PA coal was the best, but it was pretty well used up the coking process. High sulfur coal still is plentiful, but difficult to clean.
The west coast coal burns at 9,000 btu's whereas original WPA coal was 14,000 btu's and less than 1 % sulfur.
Interesting comment you have for a Wisconsin gentleman!
