Well fellers I konw it's been a spell since I've writ but I've been busy. See, it was Spring Gobbler Season here in Pa. and I was bound and determined this year I was gonna whack one with a flintlock. Yup..no more shell-shuckers for me! Sooo...I spent the whole season chaisin' them freakin' turkeys with a flintlock Brown Bess. Por nada! Yeah, I seen loads of birds! Seen more gobblers than any mere mortal man has a need to! Called till my lips chapped and my "cheeks" was chapped from sittin' on the damp ground. I had hens walk by peckin' at my boots, got the "furry eyeball" from a fox and had my decoy maimed by the biggest red-tailed hawk I have ever seen! I rekkin' all-in-all the season wasn't a total loss. I got to see a lot of beautiful sunrises and heard the birds. I lost 15lbs. trampin' around...and considerable time from work. Mebbe next year..eh? Well, it's back to 6 nights a week as one of the other bakers quit last night and I got to git started on the new floor in the computor room. I stop by and read when I can. Ya'll take care now! Audie..the Oldfart!
Good to hear from you, Audie. I know a lot of guys in this neck of the woods that enjoy the spring bird season, don't know if they had any luck or not this year though as I haven't talked to them lately.
