Would like to add Ford OEM remote start to my '04 X Limited, already has remote keyless entry, does anyone know which Ford part numbers I'd need to order?
Trying to keep all electrical components OEM, exhaust, etc are different story.
Thanks for information, am in TX and X is black so know the deal still would like to have OEM part numbers or best after market remote starts to compare.
The part number for mine was 2W7Z-19G364-AA For RMST (remote start) RKE (remote keyless entry) VSS (vehicle security system) all the bells and whisles, I dont know if there is a new product number or not.
Also the following numbers are included 2W7Z-19G364-BA RMST/RKE,
2W7Z-19G364-CA RMST for lesser thrills.
Oh and there is the needed SecuriLock 1L3Z-19G365-AB if you have a pats key, and if it is a diesel you will need a tach inverter kit 5C3Z-17C304-AA.
I thought about the Ford system, but ended up going with an aftermarket system. The work better and go farther than the Ford system ever would. Clifford, Viper, Python, any of the Directed Electronics brands work well and are hard to get past.
I agree with Toreador Diesel go with a aftermarket, I wish I would have and still might, the range on the OEM is rather short about 300 ft give or take on conditions.
Thank you all the Ford part numbers are current believe it or not and the ressearch project continues between OEM, Clifford Clifford, Viper, Python, any of the Directed Electronics brands. X is going into shop has oil leak out of front case bad news, good news still covered under warranty.
Again thanks this forum and the assist gained hear went long way to changing after 20+years from GM to Ford, my wife still is in shock
Thanks X is going in shop for engine leaks, under waranty and have a "command performance," at Japenese Gardens in Ft Worth this Sat. Possibly catch up next weekend?
