time for gears, lil' help please

hey there guys, i have a 2001 250v10 ,obviously, with a 4" lift and 37's as of right now, i have an 8" lift about to go on it with possibly bigger tires but i wont get tires for a year or so. i am still runnning 3.73 gears in my truck and its really bothering me. i do a lot of offroading and mudbogs with my truck and was wondering what gear ratio you guys would reccomend with the setup i have/will have. i would like a ratio i wouldnt have to change when i get new tires and im not really worried bout mpg too much. i was wondering what brand you guys prefer aswell. also, what spline and other ordering info do i need. thanks a lot for the help guys.

Wow... I bet your truck feels real sluggish right now. Your truck is too tall geared even with stock tires to begin with... I recommend 5.13 gears for 37" tires or 5.38 gears for 38-39" tires. That will keep your RPM's in the same range as a truck with stock tires and 4.30 gears, which is what most here would agree is ideal for a V10. You need gears that will fit a Dana/Spicer D50 for the front and a Ford 10.5" in the rear.

Good luck and happy mudding.
