You stay safe over there, ya' hear?!?!?

Thanks for your service, too! There are none among us so noble as those who sign on the line to gamble their lives for our safety, security, and liberty.

I have the amsoil remote bypass filter mounted under the drivers side outboard on the frame. I'm also running 5w-40 synthetic. I had 16000 miles on my last set of filters and oil, it was still clean and golden. I coated the filters and mount with spray on grease and they were easy to take off with no rust or corrosion.

I have that kit very nice, only I don't have that valve to get the samples. I got it cheap because it was an old kit someone else ordered.

If you want to do it inexpensively and with some quality, take a look at how I installed my bypass system:
SpringerPop's Lube Bypass Filter

Others on here have duplicated it easily.

I'm very leery of using the LOP to provide the flow required for a bypass oil filter. After 10 years of towing with my old F350 at WOT for many miles at a stretch while climbing mountain grades and monitoring oil temp at the oil filter filing I wouldn't want to lose even 5% of the LOP's flow capability.

I've looked at bypass systems for my C7 but when I watch the ICP and LOP pressures as I climb grades at WOT I see that it's taking all the flow the LOP can provide to run the injectors! Why doesn't someone invent a bypass system that uses an electric oil pump to suck from the pan through the dip stick hole and return through the filler tube? That way you can bypass a higher flow rate and there's no high pressure leaks to worry about!

Wow, Marv... I just discovered that my company's web filters classify your web site as a "malicious site".

Yup. My own FireFox tells me that it's prevented a pop-up. There ARE no pop-ups on my site.

Some bot dropped a script into the HTML pages.

I've re-loaded the site, and it's clean, FOR NOW, but looks like I'm going to have to have a little talk with my web host folks.

There should never be any pop-ups or java scripts running on my site. It's simplicity, itself.

Correct me if I am wrong but the low pressure pump doesnt feed the injectors, thats the job of the high pressure pump (HPOP). The low pressure pump feeds the rest of the motor that doesn't require such high pressures.

First if anyone knows the gal/min flow rating for the 7.3L LPOP please post it. I'm trying to estimate how long it takes to filter the entire 4 gal oil reserve.

From what's written at the bottom of page 4 here... http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...iagnostics.pdf ... it seems that the HPOP must be supplied by the LPOP and that a weak flow from the LPOP causes ICP issues? However on my F350 I was referring to flow rate vs temp.

On my C7 I've got a real-time read out of both LPOP pressure and ICP and when I pull at WOT (especially in hot weather) to get my 33K GCW up a long grade I notice a decrease in LPOP pressure and sometimes if it's very hot the ICP also decreases. This only occurs at higher RPM under full load when the injectors are requiring a higher oil flow and it doesn't seem to occur when I pull a pretty steep grade at lower RPM in 6th or 5th gear.

I'm wondering how well an electric fuel pump would work as an oil pump for a "powered" bypass filter system which could also include a cooler?
