Long story short i had a problem with my diff wile back and had to replace it so i picked me up a axle out of a wrecked truck, got a ls out of the deal I was happy. Until I noticed the rear tires chirping on pavement when i had it in 4wd. I did some investigating and I have 373 in the front and 4 10 in the rear... Thought I checked this but I think it was a diffrent axle and the ls one was next to it so i took it, stupid me. So should I keep the 373 or the 4 10? I dont do any towing its a have fun with the power truck. Witch would be better for street driving?
If you are running approximately stock height tires, stay with 3:73. That seems to keep the 6.0 in the proper power band.
I agree, if you were lifting and going with 35s, I'd say keep the 4.10. But since you're running stock tires and wanting more on road performance, stay with the 3.73's.
Thanks for the input guys! I have a 06 f-250 2wd 5.4 with a ls 3 73 and i think im just going to swap axles so i dont have to mess with changing everything
The only thing that I would see, based on your situation, that going with the 4.10s would do is that you have better initial power. The truck would have to work less early on, but it will be hurting you a tad bit at higher speeds.
