I need a 1985 F-150 fuel filter canister.

I just picked up a free '85 F-150. 302, EFI, automatic, 2wd. It also has dual tanks and I think that is relevant. So the fuel filter (in the frame under the driver side door) is housed in a plastic canister. In replacing this filter I busted a hole in the side of the old plastic housing. My problem is that I can't find a replacement housing anywhere. All the shops have in my area is the filter element. I found a post on fixya.com that said there are other similar parts that can be used. If anyone knows where I can get a replacement, or a similar part that I can use please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to FTE

E6TZ9K044A .. Fuel Reservoir, includes Fuel Filter.

Fits: 1985/86 F100/250, Bronco & Econoline all with a 302.

This part was originally a Ford Dealer part only, so I doubt you will find it in an autoparts store.

The reservoir is still available from Ford =

MSRP: $88.02 / y2kfordparts.com price: $45.57.

FTE sponsor: y2kfordparts.com = MILLENIUM FORD in Seattle WA.

Good info from NumberDummy but I think I would hit my local junk yard and pick one up.

That's why I listed all the applications...so the OP can do just that....instead of buying a new reservoir from a dealer.

But...I doubt the OP will get that FTE member discounted price...for a new reservoir....anywhere else.

If you have dual tanks the mechanism that switches tanks is in that part. It's different than the reservoir for single tanks. I hunted for one 5 years ago and had to buy one from the dealer for about $220. I've heard Ford no longer carries them, but haven't checked for myself.

The E6TZ-9K044-A does not have the switch mechanism. I have a single tank. This part number is a Reservoir/Filter. Ford does carry the E6TZ-9K044-A, at the price NumberDummy shows above. Thanks.

The E5 parts have got a little, black star next to them which means they're obsolete, superseded, no longer available.

The "r/b" is "replaced by" followed by the E6 (redesigned) part.

Great! I ordered the "E6" Friday, was hoping it would fit..... Thanks!

Question; Does anyone know how to properly remove the fuel lines from this Reservoir/Filter.
