On a BII, 89 refers to the TCC circuit. Is it possible someone has swapped a manual transmission in place of an auto, or put an auto computer into it? Any chance you've misread the code?

In theory, you should be able to pull the numbers (part number and/or calibration code) off of the computer and Ford should be able to identify which application it came out of.
