start up problems

whats up guys the truck im talking about is the one in my sig.

So recently i have been having problems starting my truck. When i go to start it after it has been sitting for a bit of time, over night or several hours while im at a movie or something, when i start it it does one of two things.

it either starts and then a half second later drop super low in rpms, nearly stalls then catches itself and is fine the rest of the time im driving it. After the initial problem it has no problems or any kinds of signs of problems.

or

at the start it catches, turns over and runs for a brief moment and then just like senario 1 its rpms drop rather quickly and it completely stalls out. IF this happens i then have to crank it again, which takes longer than normal to start and then i have to remain on the gas for several min to keep it from stalling out again.

Anybody have a clue what is going on and can help me out for this?

thanks guys

sounds like fuel pump is bleeding off pressure, which it shouldn't do, meaning a new fuel pump is probably going to be needed. might wanna try a new fuel filter first though.

it can be cleaned. there is a how-to somewhere around here. I just pulled mine and used brake cleaner and throttle body cleaner and cleaned that and my throttle body out and put it back together to fix a bad idle, but this is a starting problem and I still think it is a fuel pump bleeding off pressure because it is a starting problem.

Cleaning an IAC valve works but, the problem will always come back after a while. Just replace it with a new one and be done with it.
