Missing from the meets

I havn't posted or been active in anything for a long time now but I wanted to stop by and see what everyone was up to. I've been real busy with my new job and going to school in the evenings so it doesn't leave me much time to get on here or even hit up the meets.

I wanted to say though that I know everyone wants to get together and have a real Ford Truck meet. One where everyone can look at some truck parts, maybe take something apart or what not. Every meet that I've been apart of from here and other local truck clubs has just mainly been to hit up Hooters or someones house and have a few beers or what not. Maybe stair at someones truck for 10 minutes and talk about it. Nothing really down, dirty and educational.

My brother works at a local Ford dealership, I'm going to talk to him and see if he can get us any information on maybe having a meet there one afternoon on a weekend. It's to bad that the local Ford truck plant shut down, that would have also been a great place to try and meet up at.

I think it would be great to maybe have a couple meets where we did some basics in proper maintnance for our trucks and so forth. What do you guys think?

I hav'nt been a member that long, as with some of the other folks on here now....so maybe you could reintroduce yourself....the idea of a meet to actually gain some info at a dealership sounds ok.

Were you the former chapter leader ?

Yes I was the former Chapter Leader. My name is Chris, I live in (North) Suffolk and have a 1999 Ford F-150 XL 4.2L 5 speed.

I think we need to find some garage space, jack up some trucks and take some things apart. To me that's what it's all about, getting your hands a little dirty and then going out for a good run.

Maybe even do a truck run sometime, that could be a lot of fun. That's what a lot of motorcycle groups do, just get out and ride. That could be a lot of fun, especially somewhere like the Blue Ridge Parkway or even up the coast.

car meets are pretty much the same thing... gets to be same ol same ol every meet i go to like it... gets boring after the first couple times... thats why ive liked the last 2 meets for FTE i went to.. went places that were fun and gave us stuff to do other than stare at each other...

Since a bunch of you guys live in VA beach area and there are a few of us up in Richmond/Northern VA why not meet up this coming June 20th at Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda? It's north of Glauster and south of Tappahannock on Rt 17. Theres a pretty big mud bog going on that day (I'll be there with my new ranger!) and should be a good day. The event website is: Virginia Motor Speedway - Celebrating 40 Years of Speed!

LOL sounds like a great idea ATC, outside of the BYOP

I am getting some overtime rolling at work right now so I'm hoping to get some new shocks here soon. Maybe I can invite everyone over for a beer or something when I install them.
