Welcome to FTE.

Since here in FL we don't have inspections, I don't know the details, but an EGR delete is visual, so you could bump in to troubles at an inspection. But it is true for the 4" turboback system without CAT in it.
If you are new to diesels, I recommend you to "suck" as much info in as you possibly can, here on FTE, and do the delete after you comfortable to grab the wrenches, and dig deep into your engine, because the EGR delete requires a lot of wrenching, and a good base knowledge about the 6.0 engine.
Also get an SCT - that's the best programmer, and the money you want to spend on an intake, spend it on custom programs instead. There is no need for an aftermarket intake, unless you go way out of the line, and try to build a dragster 6.0.....

Welcome to FTE Trainman

Before you do anything, a few hours of reading through the Tech Folder will help. Most asked question article: Best Mods for my Truck is a good starting point.

Just like Maxium mentioned it, get yourself free for a few hours, and read into the tech folder. More great info there, than what you could imagine.
