1964 spedometer needle

Is just the spedo needle available as a part or does one have to but the entire assembly? Can one safely remove the bezel and needle and install a new needle?

No parts of the speedometer were available separately.

What has happened to your speedo needle?

Has the reddish color faded away so it's hard to see? If so...go to the cosmetics counter of your local department store, pick out a color of nail polish, and paint it.

This also works for the gauge needles.

the needle can spin off the shaft..easy to fix..my spedo went to 90 and stayed there..presses the needle back on and lubed the cable...5 mile error at 60....beter than doing 5 sitting still..

I bent the needle up bad when I removed the dash plate to install my pertronix.

Looks like I am up a tree.

my petronix fit under the cap....never thought to hook it up to the speedometer

See them on ebay occasionally. Purchased couple of extra instrument panels, only for the guages and speedo, believe I got them fairly cheap.

dogbreath, my ignitor is under the cap too. Just figured I would bypass the resistor wire like a mechanic not a hick. Where is your resistor wire located? In the tailgate?
