This morning I was driving on a highway when all of the sudden the truck died. It acted as if the key had been turned off. Once I pulled off the side of the road I tried restarting it. It was dead. I had it towed back to town. Once there I had the battery recharged, it still wouldn't crank over. Throughout this time the red light on the dash was flashing really fast. After some searching for bad fuses we found fuse the 34 which is for the fuel injectors and pcm power had burned out. It was replaced. Now the motor cranks, but it still will not turn on. Anyone have any ideas?
Is it getting spark? Is it getting fuel? When you first turn on the ignition you should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds. Is it? Are there any codes stored in the PCM? How old is the battery? Did you get it load tested? These newer vehicles do some weird stuff when the battery is going bad. Just some ideas of areas to check. You may need to get a hold of a Ford Emission and Powertrain shop manual and follow the diagnostics listed to narrow it down. I usually start with the battery and pulling codes and go from there.
