I noticed a wierd one with my ESOF last night. Just driving down the road with the AC on full I decided what the heck, try the 4wd. I hit the switch and the air kept coming out of the vents, then it started switching between the vent and defroster. Never did that before so I am thinking I am seaing at the hubs and I am losing my vacuum in the line somewhere. I know I'm good to the T by the blower motor so when I get time I will check the vacuum down at the wheel end. Does anyone know if I hook the vacuum pump up to the nipple on the wheel will I hear the hub click in or is there no noise at all?

You have a vacuum leak somewhere alright. Hopefully it is somewhere else besides the hub seal (and I don't mean the auto locking hub). This is yet another reason I switched to my Mile Markers. No more vacuum problems. I have all my lines which went to the hubs capped off. I even have the solenoid disconnected so it doesn't even try to work when I turn the dial on the dash.

First place to look is the vac line from the frame to each wheel hub. This is normally the place to fail. Cost me $3.00 to fix mine last time. The only time the hub seal failed is when the wheel bearing failed first.
Well, just had new solenoid, bearing hubs and auto lockers put on a month ago so I am hoping this is it. I thought for sure this would have cured it but as usual I am wrong. ha ha If I knew where the T was I would just run new line for the heck of it. I have all sizes of the nylon tubing here at work.
