I am want to get a little more performance and economy from my 85 F150 so i am putting on a M50D 5 speed and aluminum rims from a newer truck, but i need a few parts if anyone is near MD. I'm looking for 1 tire, a michelin XC LT4 235R75-15 and a transmission backing plate for the 5 speed. Any help would be appreciated
Try the 80-86 forum and the classifieds. I havent been around here long enough to know but my Mustang forum frowns on for sale & wanted ads in the general forums.

its the same way hear. to the OP go to the classifieds!!!!!!!! you probably wont even have to post it its probably already up for sale.
Unlike the mustang forums there is not much activity on the classified section, but thanks for the reply. I just posted in the wanted section and apologize if i broke any rules, just looking for a little help
What is the backing plate you speak of? 5-speeds do not use a block plate the way automatics do.
I am sure you can find someone with a variety of parts and parts trucks on classifieds or craigslist, contact them directly with the info in their ad...you will find everything you need
except maybe for the tire, because you are looking for the specific brand model and size...tall task when it comes to buying used tires
yes, the plate between the trans and motor. I'ts a discontinued part from ford and i didn't get one from the guy i got the trans from. I know its hard to find specific parts but thats why we use community forums, i may never find one if not for asking. I have a line on a removable trans plate for the cab using craigslist, but its kind of far.
hey i might have your tire sitting on the farm you can have it for a case of beer lol i'm located in pa where 41 and 1 hit i'll let you know hopefully tomorrow about the tire
and go to summitracing.com and see if they have what you need for the plate i've used them to get stuff and david kee might be able to help you with finding the plate if summit doesn't have it davidkee@davidkeytoploaders.com he doesn't specialize in m5ods but i'm sure he has the connections to find you a plate
well i found some time to do some searching and came up good. I found my backing plate by going to another dealer and a out of state dealer had one, its on its way and should be here next week. best of all i went to a local wrecking yard and found the exact tire for $15. on the way home i stopped at my regular sunoco service station to get gas and asked about getting my tire MB and he was changing out 4 of the exact tires i have been looking for. whap- pow! now i have tires to smoke!
