So many things to think about on this "Big Bump." You guys got me thinking about the grille now. I think what I would like would be a steel one and then I'd have it chromed. I just had a sport bumper chromed and it came out beautiful. I got it for the 70 CS but haven't put it on yet. Now, I'm thinking it should be on the Crew Cab....oh, so many different possibilities. I really should just keep it "stock" as possible in every way.
Just got the title and the original Bill of Sale, (March, 1969). It has been "lost in the house" for the last few days and the seller was unable to furnish it til this evening. Worth waiting for as the son was selling it for the Father. Tonight I talked with "PoP" and got the scoop. Title was issued in March, 1969 as he bought it new. Hasn't driven for over 10 years. Seems like everyone ran into it where it was parked which is why it is bent and dented everywhere, according to the previous owner. Claims this is the original mileage and it never was used a lot. Showing 47715. This is hard for me to believe, but he did give me the original Dealer Bill of Sale and the Original Title with his name on both. I can only scratch my head and wonder. .......... I'm not a youngster myself any more and soon will be 70, but this guy is way older than me......maybe even 10 days older than dirt.....!!! First time talking with him and meeting him. Son was there and he's about my age........ Well, I really have a story to go with the truck now! Just got to figure out how to keep the old original title and satisfy the Motor Vehicle Department and get a new title for myself......should prove interesting as they are supposed to be turned in.......... This is getting to be more fun every day...!!!
They have went to a four day week and are now open Monday thru Thursday from 7am to 6pm. I shall be there first thing Monday morning. I have no idea what they might or might not want to do as I haven't tried to keep an "Old Title" before. I'm sure there has to be a way. I sure want to keep it if possible! Just to have the documentation of the truck would be a nice "adder" to it. Will let you know!
Department of Motor Vehicles will issue a "Duplicate Title" upon proper application and payment of a $6.00 Fee. Then, we surrender the Duplicate Title to the DMV along with an application for a Title in my name and another $6.00 Fee. Then I have the Original to do with what I want and they are satisfied with the "Duplicate" and the proper applications. Yep, Original Title is now MINE! ........
