My green 78 F250 is getting rusted here and there and needs some care this summer. I was initially planning to treat each rust spot individually and paint over but as long as I'm at it I thought maybe I'd try getting the whole thing painted a different colour. So what would you choose? Keep in mind the interior is still green so the colours should complement each other. Not black, too Green Hornet...
I saw this stuff at a sportsmans show a couple of years ago kind of like a magnetic sign, but it would cover the whole truck. you could go camo, or put running horses, or a picture of anything. Just a wild thought too wild for my rig. I am still thinking a dark blue for mine, But I always liked white. Right now primmer gray works for me.
Yeah the truck on my Haynes manual is white, looks really nice. May end up keeping it green, or "Medium Jade" I think it's called. I can't think of much else that goes with that interior.
I just sprayed mine (Rustoleum Canvas White) Looks like Wimbleton white. I am schocked how well it turned out...... 5 cans X $3.99. Cheap paint job until I get the real deal.
I liked the dark metaliic green I used to see in the early 90s on Rangers and Explorers. There is so relatively little to the interior, why not choose any color and have the entire truck painted any color you like. I didn't spend a whole lot to have my bench seat reupholstered in the fabric of my choice.
heres the scheme i came up with on painting my truck. best thing i can tell ya is print some pictures of a white truck off line and sit down with some colored pencils and sketch you some different designs and then just go with it thats what i did

It's a thought but I have an extended cab, I'd need to get both benches reupholstered, replace the green dash, the green ceiling, the green plastic trim, after I ripped it all out to repaint all the metal surfaces It could be done but it would eat up a fair bit of time and money. Besides my vinyl seats are in really good shape for their age, maybe in 10 years.
A shiny green paint might be interesting. Guess we'll see.
