Hood Bumpers

I am installing the bumpers on my '50 hood and am confused as to where the large front bumper and bolt go. I don't see a hole in the hood that seems to be the location.

i've got a 52, but i'm running a 50 hood, i just orded a set of hood bumpers also, there were 3 sizes, 2 of each size, and one larger bumper with a bolt. i couldnt figure out where that bumper went either, but i figured it went where my old hood latch went.
are you still running your factory hood latch? gonna dig through diagrams and see what i can find for you.

i see the round bumpers(16758) i think. but not the longer one. maybe i'm blind.

i think that bumper is only for the 51 52 years, base number 16744 on the bottom.
looks like that might be it to me.
can someone confirm this?

The big bumper w/bolt goes at the front center of the hood...........It's the other 3 sizes I can't figure out......my hood/ fender has the same gap from front to back!! T/M

I can't see all the bumpers in your drawing. I checked my hood and I have a total of nine (9) bumpers on mine and all have screws. I would suspect that the repops are different from the original.

1. 1 large bumper centered on the front of hood fwd of latch.
2. 2 slightly smaller (one on each side) just forward of hood air dam.
3. 2 smaller (one on each side) just aft of the hood air dam.
4. 2 smaller (one on each side) center of hood sides.
5. 2 smaller (one on each side) aft of hood sides.

Is that clear as mud? Hope this helps.

Now I see the large bumper in the center. It is XX744. I guess you remove the latch plate screw in the center and replace it with the bumper and bolt. That is the only thing I can figure out.

but the xx744 number is only on the 51 52 years...
unless i'm missing something.
but like gdgerland said, he's got one forward of his latch. so it must be there
