I have a 1974 3/4 ton F-250 4x4, with a 390, C-6 and a divorced NP205
transfer case. In the past it's been a piece of cake to shift the
transfer case into 4 high, 4 low etc. Now it takes everything I can
do to it get it to shift into 4 anything or back to 2 high. Does this mean something bad or am I doing something different or wrong in my old age.....
It's been a while since I had it in 4 wheel drive. Probably the better part of a year. I live in Southern Illinois, but moved from southern Michigan last year. It doesn't get much mileage on it anymore. I've never had it do this though. I had a rebuilt C-6 put in it last fall. Thanks for you reply and sorry for taking so long to respond.
check for rust build up on the linkage for the transfer case and the little plastic bushings they put in the transfer case linkage wear out from age and can make it hard to shift I would check those first
My dads f-250 is similar, bw13-56 with c6 and you can't put it in 4low because of the problem AZ4x4f150 talked about.
