I would absolutely love to come. 7 hour drive is hard for me to plan for right now. I doubt the wife and kid will come. If I come I may do it last minute. It looked like a blast last year.
I have it marked on the calendar right now for reminder.
How's it going fellers? We've had plenty of rain here. The lakes are all up and the TVA is generating as hard as they can go. I'm glad I got my hay up last week.lol
HEY! I've got some supposedly super-hot peppers going on - claimed to be hotter than Habernero's and Scotch Bonnet.....
Chiltipins? If so, which ones? Ft. Prescott? Sonoran? They are hotter then habernero's, some are a tie to Scotch Bonnet, it also depends on what the weather was like a few days before harvest. Rainny and cloudy weather for a few days before harvest will make for a much milder pepper(no matter what kind) then sunny weather before harvest.
They are apparently not a chiltepin, pequin, or similar variety. I'm looking at the plastic "BLURB" spike that came with one of them, and it has a link to Chef Jeff *That's a web-link, back there
It claims to be more than twice as hot as a habernero, 1 1/2 inch by 1 inch wide wrinkled peppers that taper to a blunt point. Down towards the bottom it calls them (FINALLY!!!) Carribean Red Hot peppers
Sounds like an advanced breed of "HOBBY" (Habernero)
I plan to save as many seeds as possible out of the first bunch - if you want some I'll mail them to ya!!!
*It's listed under the Chef Jeff "OTHER" section.....
Took my 2 sons down to Arkabutla yesterday. We didn't catch anything and the boat didn't run too good, but being around them all day was a treat. We did get some laughs. Especially when my reel hung up and flung 2 good lures across the horizon.
The 2nd to last weekend we are planning on going to my wife's family reunion at Lake Tia'Okhata (pronounced tia-kata -- Indian name) in Louisville, MS. I always like going there.
The last weekend in June is the Smoky Mountain F100 run. I have a campground reserved right behind the show. The following Monday we are going the few miles into the national park. We are staying the rest of the week in Elkmont. I can't wait.
I never did get along with open spool reals - Spinning reals are my thing!
I can plop dang near nothing anywhere I want it with an open faced spinner, but the newer high tech spool reals defy my patience and understanding....
I always (in my minds eye) picture my Momma sorting out a badly snarled real after we went fishing, to save all of that expensive line.
I just can't get used to them for some reason....
NOW, I know that they are suposed to have a control on the spin-out of the line, using magnets or whatever, I know I should be able to just drop my thumb on the spool to stop it....
I STILL end up with a mess my Momma couldn't work through using knitting needles! A "GORDIAN KNOT" beyond all understanding - and that's the last thing you need in a boat!

Actually it is Diawa a closed face, under rod reel. Easiest to use. It just had last years 6# test. All the work I did to get the boat ready and I didn't get time to get my tackle ready.
