Hey all i have the vaccum leak that makes your vents switch to defrost and back again under heavy load and exceleration. What i'm wondering is if any one here has had any luck fixing it them selves. i had the battery out this evening to check the vaccum resevoir did'nt see anything out of the ordinary. i think i may be down to going to the frickin dealer and letting them hook a smoker up to hit. thanks for any help. the truck in question is in my sig.
well took a vacum pump to all my vacum lines a little while ago..... all held good vaccum for several minutes. im kinda lost now........thinkin maybe have to pony up and help keep ford garage out of bankruptcy lol
so i might be on to something someone tell me if i maybe right. so went to use my 4x4 today no worky i have been having problems with the vacum actuator on the axle so i took it off and was going to lube it all up so it would work better my discovery was that the insides were completly gone rotted away. my thought is with the diaphram gone could this cause a vacum leak that would also screw up my vents in the cab........ hopefully so. also hard to believe that ford gets 280 for one of those crappy little plastic vacum motors what a joke!!!
You're on to it. Vacuum is always applied to one side or the other of the actuator. If the diaphragm is bad I don't see how it could help but be the culprit. Search through the "vacuum" posts under my name as someone posted an aftermarket replacement.....just don't remember who. Or hit the salvage yard. The Expy's and Nastygators are the same.
