I have 5 inch exhaust on my truck, and I have been wondering if the sound deadner will help out the drone. Do you have exhaust on your truck and if so did help your drone out?
I'm running a straight pipe with no muffler, so its pretty loud. Before the fatmat, the exhaust was a roar, a drone that came through the back wall.
Now the exhaust is a note, a sound I can clearly hear out the passenger window, but not through the back wall.
I'm in Houston right now and they have concrete roads that really make the tires whine. I was amazed at how quiet the tires got after the install of the sound deadner.
The loudest thing now is the engine, when you give it some go the sound really comes through the front dashboard. I ordered a custom fit carpet dash cover on fleabay (scored for six bucks!) that hopefully will help mute that a little bit.
Before I installed the fatmat it was very hard to hear my cell phone while it was on speakerphone. Now, I can hear the phone clearly and easily. If the engine is cruising, there is not much more sound in the cabin than a passenger car. The engine sound only comes through when you give it some go.
Bottom line, this was worth the time and money. It's easy to apply, just peel and stick. The hardest part is that you have to cut pieces to go around the various bolt and screw holes. Of course you have to remove everything to get to the metal, but its just a t-55 socket and a screwdriver to get most everything out.
I've read with interest the other threads about doing the fuel tank mod that supposedly quiets down the injectors. Not sure if I will do it yet.
The fatmat extreme has a foil lining, so it gives insulation benefits as well as sound deadning.

Well, I can't answer for him, but I did this a while back, but use the B-Quite brand which looks to be exactly the same stuff. I used 100sq ft on my supercab. I didn't do the roof, but did the floors, doors and back of cab. I had enough to double the thickness on the floors and cab back. So, I think 100 foot would be enough to single layer any of our trucks including crewcabs. I didn't get any pictures either, I made the mistake of doing it outside on a hot day. That black stuff can get pretty sticky once it gets hot and makes handling a camera tough. The hardest part is pulling the seats, seat belts, door panels and carpet out. I would imagine the headliner is the worst and the reason I chose not to do the roof.
Bottom line, it does help a lot and I think it was worth the cost and trouble.
