Too many reflashes
I own a 08 6.4 2 wheel drive F-250. Last year when pulling my 9,000lb RV I was getting between 10-12 mpg. But I never saw the clean exhaust message, although I think it was doing it as the tail pipe was clean. Since then I have had a reflash where it tells you its doing it.
This last weekend I went 200 miles to southern MN and back. It cleaned exhaust 2 times going down and 2 coming back, which seemed more then it should have. I was driving easy for mileage going between 60-65 mph. Taking off easy from stop lights etc. On the way down I got 9.4mpg and on the way back 10.1mpg. Needless to say I'm disapointed, its getting worse mileage with 10,000 miles on it then it did with 5,000 miles it had on it last summer when I was pulling.
Any ideas on what I should do, the service manager says their computer is broken for doing the reflashes. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
