Problem found I only have 10 lbs of fuel pressure, not so good so first im going to pull the fuel line going to the filter housing to make sure I put it back together right and then attacking the fuel tank filters and then the pump if none of that fixes it. Well my ? is does that cover everything or is there other things that could cuase this problem? Thanks in advance!
As long as you're not opposed to smelling like diesel from disconnecting the lines, I'd check the pump this way.
Disconnect the line on the front side of the pump and stick a short hose on there going into a bucket. Turn the key on (not start) and observe how much fuel comes out of the pump. Then grab a second bucket & fill it full of diesel. Disconnect the line off the back of the fuel pump (plug this line or set it up high so you don't empty your tank). Stick a short hose on the back of the fuel pump and dip it into your full bucket of diesel, then turn the key on (not start). If the fuel pump seems to come to life and start pumping correctly, you have a fuel restriction in the tank.
If the volume and pressure seem good during the first check and the tank lines seem clear, then start looking at the FPR like Barry suggested.
Thanks for the advise Chris and Barry, shouldnt be opposed after working on it this long lol, i go home smelling like JP8 all the time from working on jets so guess I can handle it thanks again.
Well got it fixed dang fuel regulator, O-ring was pretty much gone. Never new 2 O-rings a metering valve and a spring would run me 75 bucks wow. Thanks everyone for all the help!
Lol thanks alot, I checked that first being that I had removed it when I pulled the motor, and wasnt sure exactly how it went back not good but hey its fixed got my baby back on the road all i could do was smile as she perred like a kitten and had her power back.
Yes it is, but you'd be surprised on the number of people who just disappear instead of coming back and saying this is what my problem was. These threads may come up years from now in a search, so it's always nice to see a resolution posted. Not everyone grasps that concept.

Well said, there are countless threads that die on the vine without a resolution posted. That's how we learn here.
My fuel pressure is about 25 and the truck will not pull itself.
Where do i get a FPR kit?
Even the Ford Dealer says its not available. The quotes from local parts stores to replace the FPR start at $150. Too much.
Welcome to FTE. I'd suggest you start your own thread about your issues. I doubt the FPR is the cause of your low fuel pressure unless you tried to mod it and messed something up. If you really need a new FPR, check here Replacement O-rings for Diesel Engines
Otherwise start a new thread so we can help diagnose this. No reason to buy a FPR if you've got clogged screens in the mixing chamber.
