e40d shudder and vibration
I have run thru all of the posting and even though the question has been raised, I have not seen any explanation on how to tell if your Torque Converter is bad. My 91 F-150 has been vibrating and shuddering for several months now. I am in the process of pulling the transmission out. Once I get to the T/C, how can you tell if the unit is in fact bad? Thanks

Shudder can almost always be solved by doing a complete fluid change. Once you have the transmission out you can't diagnose the torque converter. The only way to tell if it is bad is to put it on a lathe and cut it open.
