trans temp

what should the trans temp be just driving about 60 no trailer
the auto meter says 180 but i tuck a temp gauge and checked around the pan and it was 152 at the highest

i run between 165 and 180 at anywhere between 60 and 70. as long as you dont touch 210 your ok. but still is better if cooler. 210 is when stuff is gettin burnt up and roasting the tranny.

ok thinks so its about the same thats good guess i needed bigger cooler for texas

haha yea. but a buddy of mine pulls his cummins that is putting 565 on the ground fuel only. hes the one that explained to me bout the tranny temps with autos cause he has one in his truck. and he runs his own shop as well. so i trust wat he tells me lol

the stock tranny coolers are a joke. I just put a tru cool on mine, you wouldn't believe the difference in size between stock and this one.

well i blow the lines out but that was it i do got fram filter on it in the front could that be it must say farms no good

How long has the filter been there? You could always pop the pan off. See what's up. Change the filter or filters and throw some fresh fluid in it.

its new about 3 weeks now but i was thinking about what people say about fram fliters so ill chang it and take to the guy that rebuilt to make sure its not in the trans

I have a 95 f 350, installed a 22000 lb true cool cooler, ouside temp about 90 i run between 160 to 170 , will pull a 6000 lb r v this week end, will seee what it runs. Jim
