Where do all the Super Duty's go that don't get sold on the lots and is there anyway to buy them. I have looked and haven't had much luck. Any help would be great.
I am talking about the new ones that sit on the lot...some of them never sell...where do they go and can we buy them.
They ALL eventually sell...period. They may sit on a lot for a year or more until someone decides to take their lumps and give a buyer way too much for their trade, contingent to buying that particular vehicle. There is no secret dumping ground for those unwanted vehicles, someone eventually takes them home.
They take the bed off am use them to build RV or special vehicles like drilling rigs and so on.
It is quite common that RV chassis is a year or 2 older the the final product.
I don't know the answer to the original question but a dealer here in San Diego has a really nice '08 SD with a V10 that has been sitting on the lot for about a year. The only reason I can think of why it's not selling is the V10.
There is a dealer here in Frankfort IL that still has a few 08 standard cab 2wd F250 SDs, real basic with A/C, upfitter switches, tow pkg and clearance lights. Fleet vehicles for the most part. They are advertising these for 16,777.00 on a 27k list. No fine print, real deal. Got mine back in February for the same price. I don't understand how they are still sitting there other than most buyers dont want a basic truck and resale is crappy on limited option vehicles. Buying at that price allowed me to trick out the truck and not break the bank and I'll likely keep it until it dies anyway.

Don't make any sense, I had to order mine just to get one. Those pulling an RV treasure these things
I forget which section (F-150 or Super Duty??) it was in, but someone posted about 2-3 months back that he'd found something like an '06 or an '07 on a dealer's lot. New with only about 50-60 miles on it. OASIS was clean. I do not recall if the OP ended up buying it, but it just goes to prove that once in a while some vehicles will sit on a lot for years waiting for a buyer.
I suspect that the lack of older, new stock on dealership lot is a two-fold ordeal. A.) They are probably a bit conservative in ordering lot stock, and B.) If they are having problems moving something, I am willing to bet that they can send it out to be auctioned off. After all, getting some money is better than paying to have a vehicle sit on your lot.
There are still old trucks out there left over on the lots. One of the members on here was looking at two new 2006 F-150s just last month at the same dealer.
Some dealers specialize in picking up old stock from other dealers. When the '08's first came out, Burch Ford picked up all of the '07's they could find in their area. I guess they move them, eventually.
