starter engine

For the last few days, when I start up the starter has been chirping just as the engine catches. This morning when I got up, I got something that sounded like a pterdactyl and no start. I think that the clutch on the starter is gone, but I need to know if there is anything I can do besides buy a new one. I ain't got no $$$$, I'm late for work and I can't stand driving my wife's go-cart while she looks at me with that "why did you buy such an old pos" look.

You can search Ebay or autozone for a new starter it's what you need. You can remove the starter and get azone to check it first.

Call around and and talk to truckers and see if you can find a big rig starter shop, because some of them can rebuild your starter for much cheaper than a new starter, but you'll need to look and see if you have the mitsubishi starter or the Denzo

Even though I have no idea what one of theose older than me creatures sounds like, I am going to guess your bendix is shot.

If you can find a rebuild shop, that is probably your cheapest way out.

Problem solved, when I went to work on the starter, I found the problem wasn't the starter. A few days ago when I got up at 4 in the morning, there were 3 kids and an older guy parked across my driveway, when they saw me they took off like scalded cats. Sooo, the starter had 2 loose bolts and the ground wire was almost cut through. I'm not sayin they wuz tryin ta steal it er nuthin, but they were driving an old ford like mine...but it was a gasser, so my starter wouldn't have worked anyway.

Yes, just came home from the sons awards ceremony at high school.
Silver medal machinist at the state competition for all of the trade schools in the state.
Another award related to the trade school, Edge honors Kum lada what ever that is.
Honour roll with a 4.0 for the year.

I am almost deaf if there are any other noises around, so if she makes one of those sounds, I hear nothing.
Comes in handy rather often, but she calls it selective hearing.
