Well, I did it... I put rust inhibitor on one of my 52 front fenders and didn't even think about the primer...DAH!!!
Wow I didn't even use filler yet..I guess my question would be, has anyone filled or shot epoxy primer over rust inhibitor or should I GRIND the fender down to metal again and shoot it with etching primer? Boy when I __up, I do good, hah.
I'm gonna say your gonna have to go back to bare metal. What kind of inhibitor did you use??? If POR15, you can prime over that, but it still has to be wet to make the primer adhere to it. If there is any body work that needs to be done, then you definatly want to go back to bare metal for the best adhesion of filler.
You know, I had a feeling that I might need to go backto metal. No, I used some other inhibitor I got from my Paint store. The gu said itwas great but I did not ask about covering it with paint. Well I will go back to metal. Thanks.
