I have a 1993 Full size Bronco 351w/ E4od trans. I recently installed a 393 stroker/carbed. Was wondering if anyone knows what exactly it will take to swap out the E4od for a C6. Will a C6 bolt to a 1993 tranfer case, ect.
yes they will/should. you may need different drive shafts though as the lengths are different.
are you installing a stock C6 or built C6. have your removed all of the ABS stuff and how are you going to get your speedo and such to work>?
I have a baumanator in it right now, didnt like it and ended up blowing out high gear in my E4OD, I think i'm selling my controller and trickflow pan and going for a built C6 with stall.
i just see you in for a lot more work then necessary and expense.
as for the abs i believe it will need to be ripped out so your brakes operate properly. reselling this rig at anypoint will not be possible unless its sold as offroad only though. with removal of all this stuff it wont be emissions legal or street legal.
did you contact baumanator about your tranny failure?
I'm not so worried about selling the truck. Plan on going to my grave with this truck.Have over 30k invested. Also I live in Wisconsin and truck is already old enough that it no longer has to go through emissions. A built C6 is about half the price and a good stall convertor is about a third of the price vs E4OD. I had already planned on having Tom Woods drive shafts made for it wether it had a E4OD or a C6 so thats no big deal. Just wondering what parts of the ABS a guy would have to remove? Also with the C6 I would be able install a B&M shifter, currently no one makes a console shifter for an E4OD....or atleast not that i'm aware of. Any input or help is always appreciated.
well the entire abs pump and plumbing would need pulled. basicly running the brake setup from an 88-91 would work. be a good time to upgrade to an F350 booster though.
