5.0 HO differnt firing order ?
I have a 88 5.0 out of a 88 lx mustang . It does not have a intake or the fuel injection .(I removed it several years ago but sold the intake and FI . I believe it had the H.O. on the intake .) I saw somewhere that the H.O 5.0 has the same firing order as the 351 . How can I confirm that the 5.0 is a H.O and is the firing order the same as other 5.0 or the 351 ? Thanks rg

It is just a difference in the cam, just turn it over and watch when the intake valve opens and use that as the firing order and see which one you have. If you plan on switching cams you can go with either one, I had a 289 that used 5.0HO firing order. I was told they did it to avoid loading up the front main bearing because 1 fired right before 4 and that was two in a row on one journal.
