E4OD versus 4R100 ?

E4OD versus 4R100 ?
How do you know which one ya got ? I have a 1998 E-350 15 passenger Club Wagon. Is there a door sticker or is it part of the VIN ? I've had lots of C-6's and E4OD over the years and never had a problem with any of them. It's just a point of curiousity for me. Ken 1998 Ford E-350 Club Wagon, V-10, 15 passenger.

They are not exactly the same.
The 4R100 is a beefed up E4OD. At the same time the name changed many internal parts were made stronger.
The change happened about 1998. My memory isn't what it used to be, so I'm not sure which one you have. I *THINK* it's the 4R100, but I am not certain.

I believe there was a mid-year change in 1998, based on the parts listings I've seen where there is a produced before/after date. I've not committed it to memory since I'm working on the older E4OD. I'll see if I can find it and post back.
