Hello Fellow Navi Owners. Im new here so I hope im doing this right ahah. Just a few days ago I had a Flowmaster Super 44 installed in my 03 navi and I felt sort of let down. Yes it got louder but when im driving i dont notice it as much. I dont know if this is normal. I have a video on youtube of it in my driveway. What do you all recommend for me to install to make it roar. im 18 so im paying for it all myself so I dont have 1000's to put into it but any ideas would be great. thanksss
i was talking to my friend and he said it isnt loud because of the back muffler. My super 44 is located right under the middle of the truck. so i have the stock muffler in the back my tailpipe. could he be right?
he says call up and ask for price to take out back muff and run straight pipe

hmm does anyone respond on this site? ahah
i went to Midas this morning and they said 185 to cut off second muff and install a straight pipe. what do you all think? He said that sec muff is really really cutting down my super 44 sound!
I don't know off hand what your tailpipe and resonator looks like or how it it routed, but is it something you could cut off yourself and get a section of pipe at your local Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc., and attach the pipe to the tailpipe where you removed the resonator? I know majority of these auto parts stores have different pipes either on the shelves or hanging in the back room. Maybe they'd allow you to look at their inventory and size-up exactly what you are looking for. Just a thought. But, I agree, the above muffler shop prices are a major rip-off to do what you want.

well right now im not worried about the price, they are telling me that it will be insanely loud if i take off my back muffler. I don't think its even that loud now with the super 44 and my back stock muff. i feel like its filtering it out. i am going to get it cut off tommorw to try it out. if its to loud they will put it back on. fml
yes it sounds like a rip off. i just came from a local muffler shop and they told me 240. What kind of crap is that. ahah.
HOLY CRAP!!! 240 just to cut off the resonator and put in straight pipe?
For the price they quoted you I would have asked if I got a tube of KY, a reach around, or at least a kiss.
I was quoted $350 from a local shop to do a 2.5" dual cat back with a FM 40 series running straight out the back with 3" stainless tips.
I'm curious as to how it sounds once you have the resonator removed.
There is a muffler shop about an hour away from me in Lancaster, Co, PA many of my friends have gone to and highly recommend for custom exhaust systems. It is owned and operated by an Amish gentleman and his prices are outstanding. One of my friends got a stainless system installed with a single-in, dual-out Series 40 muffler on his 2004 Suburban Z71 with the pipes exiting behind each rear tire for $275. That was for everything except the muffler, which my friend supplied. But, yes, $275 for a stainless system with polished stainless tips. And the work is immaculate. Suburban sounds sweet, too.

well my dad and I are going to remove the second muff ourselves. if its bad and too loud we will take it to get put back on so hopefully will be cheaper. if its good then all we need is to put the straight pipe in which would be cheaper. lol
it wont be obnoxiously loud. if you want a quietter flowmast go with the 50 series. You'll probably be able to find someone that wants to trade from a 50 series to a super 44. the 50 series still sounds great but slightly quieter. Oh and also might i 18 Y.O. to 18 Y.O. Dont rev the motor right after you started it if it hasnt been run in bout an hour or so. itll tear the Louves off the Camshaft. Expensive repair.
