If you remove the radio and some of the heater duct you can change the speaker without removing the dash. I mounted 2 tweeters there in my truck and they sound great, I mage an mount out of wood and osed the factory screw holes to mount it .

There are also two bolts on each inside of the dash that mounts it to the cab. They should come off pretty easy, but if they seem like they are unscrewing but not easy, take your time and just losen a little bit and then take a break. The heat that builds up plus the tension will cause the mounting tab for the bolt to come lose and you don't want that. It could fall down inside the cab. That's what happened to me.
You can sort of see where the bolts will be. Two in the center where the steering column and brake pedal mount goes and one on each side directly down from that rubber plug.
Bucks77. Is that your truck?? That is one AWESOME looking truck. If you ever want to sell her PLEASE let me be the first to make you a offer
I'm currently taking the black plastic dash face off to get to wires and clean the dusty thing. But the light and wiper *** has got me stumbled, I can't seem to figure out how to get them off. Any pointers or pictures?
Thanks.
The wiper **** has a spring release in it. Look for the notch in the **** and use something with a small hook to pull spring towards you while pulling on the **** to release. The way I did the headlight **** was to unscrew the dash bezel and move it so I could get my hand in where light switch is to push on a spring loaded button on top of switch while pulling on switch **** to release it. My hands were too big to reach under dash to push on that button.
I thought this guys video that goes over the removal of the headlight and wiper ***** was helpful with my '73 F100. You just got to fast forward past the stuff with his cat.
