Hi I bought last November a 2006 FX4 crew cab certified with about 22,000 miles on it, at the time of sale i was told i had the 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty on the vehicle, i know my 3/36000 is about to expire but i can find no mention on the ford owners website about the 100,000 mile warranty? is there any way to check, the last time i was at the dealership with a minor problem i asked about my warranties and all they mentioned was the 3/36000, so any way of checking will be greatly appreciated before i go start arguing with the dealer if they did not enter it into the system! Youur dealer can run an Oasis report and it will show if you have the extended warrenty or not.

 

Ford doesn't offer a 100,000 mile warranty.

They do however sell a couple of Extended Warranties. If your truck has/had a 100,000 mile warranty, then it must be a ESP. I highly suggest visit the Dealer and have them look up the status of your truck's ESP.


Their system will check the trucks VIN. If you have the ESP, then it will show up.



However, the ESP is an optional purchase that the prior buyer bought. The prior buyer might have canceled the ESP they bought for the remaining cash value.

no the impression i got from the salesman and the guy writing up all the paperwork is that it had a 100,000 powertrain warranty on it because it was a certified, nothing to do with any esp's or as far as i know! i did not purchase an ESP as i could not and still cannot swing the payments for one. i hope they haven't managed to pull a fast one, or i may end up in jail for sticking my foot up their asses!!

Also i am sorry to hear about what happened to yor truck, i know how i would have felt, and mine is only stock, so i can only imagine! sorry again

 

sorry man, but the bumper to bumper is 3yr/36,000

and on trucks built from July 2006 to current, the powertrain is a 5yr/60,000 miles
So either they gave you a 100,000 mile ESP...or somebody fed you a bunch of B.S.

Not so sure about the certified part....I had bought a used 02 F-150 and it was FORD certified with a 6 year/ 75,000 mile powertrain warranty....only catch was it was from the original date of purchase in 02...I had bought it in 06....so there was about 2 years left on it when I bought it.

I only hand the truck for about 5 months but I had used the warranty a hand full of times.....truck wont not start...fuel pump went out x2.......hence why I only had it for 5 months.... It had a 50 dollar delectable also.

 

that would be one of those ESP's then. The deductible is usually $100 though, unless you opt to pay a slight bit more $$$ to get the $0 deductible

 

that si interesting, is there anyone on here with acess to the oasis system, it is not that easy for me to get to the dealer, so i have to make a special trip and the consequences will be a lot worse for them if i drive all the way down there and find out it was a load of bs, i will be going to jail! lol

 

Tylus, I believe you are overlooking their "Certified Pre-Owned" program...

Ford Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles

EVERY Ford certified used car comes with an extended warranty out to 100,000 miles for the powertrain....

Glad to help. If you don't have it, I'd strongly suggest getting some of this in writing from your dealer you bought the truck from, just in case there's any doubt.

There ya go....That is what my 02 had as I did not pay any extra for it as I would have for an ESP. I thought my was only to 75k miles but it surely could have been the 100k...

EDIT:Looks like they upped it to 100k in 08....I just check my papers and it was 75k on mine...that's what I thought.

why the hell does a used Ford vehicle get a better powertrain warranty than a brand new Ford vehicle?

edit: btw, that CPO warranty is a better warranty than my F-150 Bumper-Bumper warranty. It's almost better than the warranty on the f'ing brand new Expedition I bought

 

Probably a combination of 1) the heat and litigation they got on the CPO programs and 2) an effort to help dealers clear the glut of used trucks gracing their lots.

 

You pay for the warranty, one way or another. It's built into the price of buying a "certified" used car as opposed to a regular used car. You pay a bit more for the car, but get that warranty.

I have no doubt that when they sell a car as "certified" a healthy sum of money gets sent to Ford to pay for that warranty; Ford certainly can't afford to cover the powertrain up to 100K for free, simply because the vehicle was sold twice. Someone has to pay for that, and that would be the second buyer.

Normally I think it's a pretty good deal, though. I'd buy one with that warranty!
