I removed the diff. axles, and brakes from my 65' f100 with 9" 10 bolt ford rear end. The 4 studs that hold the backing plate and bearing retainer plates on, does anyone know the size and pitch thread they are? The nuts were pretty mauled, dont want to put them back on. Thanks for your time.
If you used a 3/4" socket to remove them (as all 9" big bearing rearends use, probably what yours is, usually trucks and performance and large cars) then you need 1/2" fine thread lock nuts. If you used an 11/16" socket (most common car rearends with small bearings) then you need 7/16" fine thread. Remember, these are lock nuts with the deformed/crimped ends, not nylock nuts.
