Okay, so there I was... Heading south on I-35 coming home from one of my test routes from way up near the TX/OK border. I was a few miles from my exit, when I happen up on a 4x4 7.3L CC with a fancy exhaust, and a couple stickers in the back window. As I get closer, I see that one of them is Banks, and there are more below the F250 badge as I passed him. I notice that he seemed to be game, since he sped up and got on my tail. I gave him a big dose of soot as I switched to my Extreme tune and stomped the pedal. Then we caught up to some traffic.
We kind of made our way through it, and by then, I was right behind him (I picked the left lane, which of course was slower than the center & right lanes... ). I then notice a wisp of smoke from his exhaust, as he moved over a lane. I stomped on it, belching a huge cloud until the van turbo lit. Here's the best part: I then passed him like he was stock!!
I know he wasn't stock, but it sure does show how much more effective custom tuning is!! If you're still on the fense about going custom, here's a perfect example of why you should take the plunge!!!
That was my first time messing with another 7.3 with tunes, and it sure was an eye-opener!!
Great story, I bet he's home right now taking the banks stuff off plus his stickers. Wished I could find somebody to play with, nobody wants to play with me..Could it be that DP Tuner sticker on my tailgate??

The only thing better would have been if you could have pulled him over afterwards and told him how much you paid for your chip. The look on his face would have been priceless.
Good story Joe. Not many people that have the 7.3 know what can be had out of it. I am teaching a few guys around here what can happen with the right tunes. Good job.
I was showing the benefits of the DP tuner to an un-tuned member today (Visseroth). I put it in 140 and stomped on the skinny pedal at idle in the parking lot at Home Sleepot just as a guy in a 6.0 with Banks stickers was rolling past my nose. You should have seen the "WTF??!?" look on his face looking at the black smoke pouring out my duals
Too bad I didn't get a chance to run him on the road. Even pulling my empty horse trailer, I prolly woulda taken him!
If he was completely stock, yes. If he was tuned even with Banks, maybe not. My buddy with an '05 KR 350 DRW put down 390/700 with just a Bully Dog Triple Dog, Airaid intake, and 5" exhaust...
I'm GOING to take him. His 350 is a bit heavier than mine, and once I get my sticks, he's toast...

STFU. I would have taken him
Even if he would have beat me (dragging a trailer mind you) watching his jaw drop when my truck rolled coal was priceless.

Yea yea!!! and what did I say??
I WANT, I WANT!!!
But all in good time. First I'm going to correct my computer. I want to upgrade it so at least my stupid cruise light works!
Then, on to the DP tuner my friend! Then you and I can role some coal on our neighborly teenagers as it seems they all love to drive fast.
Oh, you won't believe this... I have a story for you guys that relates to this story. Kind of funny really...
So I'm leaving a client's place and I get out on the hwy (55mph) and I set the cruise (as I like to do to avoid tickets) and this little VW gas powered station wagon of some sort (small wagon) pulls out on the hwy in front of me a ways up the hwy. I canceled the cruise to give this person time to speed up and by the time I got up to the VW I had to peg the brake hard enough that my truck started to wonder a bit back and forth.
At this point I'm a bit ticked off that I was kind enough to disengage my cruise, slow down to about 45 only to have to hit the brake and find out this person is doing 25 and not speeding up.
It wasn't until we hit the passing zone that the VW nailed the gas, steam was poring out of the exhaust as the VW wasn't even warmed up yet.
So I'm passing now, I have the pedal pegged and my 7,700lb truck leaves this vw in the dust.
So now I am in front of the VW and I look in my rear view mirror and to my astonishment it's a old lady with a handy cap tag hanging from her rear view mirror, raged as all get out, tailgating me so close that I couldn't see her hood and swerving back and forth!!!
I mean heck, by the time I finish passing her I looked down and saw 90mph and when passing I noticed my truck was starting to float.
I guess now I know what her handy cap is however I don't want to do that again. I can just imagine what kind of wreck that would have been if something went bad! All because of a stupid old lady and a stupid young man (myself).
It's her fault though
Ha, good story.lol. That lady only thought she had road rage if she would have been behind me that close. Well, once she would have cleared the black cloud anyway.
I'm with you Rick, that sweet little old lady would have been choking on a big ol cloud of black smoke from my truck I have a rule that if you are going to ride my *** I am going to slow down and make it painful for you.....
