I have a 2006 f-150 it has the chrome package with the 18" chrome wheels. This truck only has 29,000 miles on it and the chrome is already peeling off of the front rim. Somebody told me that my warranty should cover that beings it is bumper to bumper. Do you guys have any input on that?
If you are still within 3 year/36,000 miles, you should have coverage under the bumper-to-bumper warranty. If you have an extended warranty, it depends on the fine print on the extended warranty. Hopefully you have one or the other!!
I am thinking about getting an extended warranty thru the dealership, EasyCare 75K/5 year, before the factory warranty expires on July 26th. Since I have just now crested 12k miles I am trying to weigh the pros and cons. Also looking at doing the $0 deductible so little things are covered like door handles and crap.
I also have chrome clad wheels but mine are 17" from the Virginia plant. Peeling wheels would aggravate me. Rims are pricey but I am not in love with the chrome and would prefer alloy myself. If the extended premium plan doesn't cover the chrome flaking/peeling it would be a good excuse for me to get some alloys.

I have same type '06 my Chrome rims are fine
never use the spray on cleaner
if you did there are some that ( have to read fine print) screw them up; as in they were the ones for, "but chrome"
hope you didnt use that stuff
PS: get ceramic pads, and use soap & water by hand.
Hopefully you're not passed the 3 year portion of the 3/36. That said, your dealer is likely to come up with excuses for why they wont cover a replacement wheel, but ever dealer is different. But you wont know until you talk to them.
Just an FYI not all F150 18" chrome wheels are chrome clad. I have a set of factory chrome plated wheels that I picked up off ebay.
If the dealer blows you off, keep your eyes on ebay. There are always or so it seems, a few sets of chrome clad take offs. I grabbed mine for less then 300 plus shipping.
