ok guys...
i have an 03 f250 v10...yesterday driving home from work, i slowed down for a person turning and when i went to get back on the gas, i had nothing. when i hit the gas pedal, it will run until it hits about 2k and then will not go any more. it also spits and sputters like crazy. i unplugged the battery, and that didnt help, installed a new fuel filter, that didnt help. i took off each coil pack's wires to see if a difference. each time i unplugged them the engine would miss. so i assume the packs are ok. any ideas would be great...currently i cannot drive the truck because it has no power and will not go over about 40 mph. thanks in advance

How many miles on the truck? Have you looked at all the connectors int eh engine bay to make sure nothing became disconnected? What codes is your truck displaying?
Ethonol will certainly cause premature problems in the fuel system because it is corrosive to the standard components. That might be why Ford recommends the use of BP gasoline on a lot of their vehicles. I just went thru a similar experience on the wife's Taurus that we bought used. Turned out to be fuel pump.
hey monsta...
do you mean bad gas, or the ethanol caused the fuel pump/regulator to die?
the truck does have 140k on it, so i understand the pump probably lived its life. is there anything to do to prevent this from happening? thanks for all your knowledge..
hey monsta...
i got it back from the shop and it still runs bad. they checked pressure at the rail and said it was within specs...they told me its probably a dirty injector or 2..3..4 have you or anyone else pulled the rail and cleaned the injectiors by hand? we put some "goo" injector cleaner in it. the mechanic said it was the good stuff. he told me to try and drive it, but going up hills is nearly impossible. thanks for the help...
