Cold leak at right exhaust manifold, fixed under purchase warranty by dealer's mechanic. He had to remove some broken studs.
It came back in 5 weeks, way louder. Mechanic says one of the nuts loosened, and the gasket burnt. I was 1/4 way through a 600 mile trip when it let go, so he had to replace the gasket.
It seems to be fixed, nice & quiet. But... looking at it I can see 2 bolts were used. Could be more, I can only see 4 of the 10. The bolts do not look like stainless steel.
How much of a problem is steel bolts? and how much time do I have to replace them with stainless studs? Can it wait 2,000 miles? 2 months?
This is a bad time for me to take the time to fix it right myself.
