fixed?

Cold leak at right exhaust manifold, fixed under purchase warranty by dealer's mechanic. He had to remove some broken studs.

It came back in 5 weeks, way louder. Mechanic says one of the nuts loosened, and the gasket burnt. I was 1/4 way through a 600 mile trip when it let go, so he had to replace the gasket.

It seems to be fixed, nice & quiet. But... looking at it I can see 2 bolts were used. Could be more, I can only see 4 of the 10. The bolts do not look like stainless steel.

How much of a problem is steel bolts? and how much time do I have to replace them with stainless studs? Can it wait 2,000 miles? 2 months?
This is a bad time for me to take the time to fix it right myself.

Well, aren't the ones that were not replaced eight years old? You'd think the old steel would be a higher replacement priority than the new steel.....

The old, original studs are stainless. I'm concerned about (non-stainless) steel bolts causing problems with the aluminum head.

If I had time to do it now, I could remove the manifold without much trouble. Will I risk trouble by waiting 2 months / 2k miles?

Use anti-seize, and it's all good.

2 months won't kill you.
