So far, I am not thrilled. For one, it takes some effort just to get in gear. The peddle needs to be clear to the floor in order to shift. Will it get better as it breaks in? I had a local shop put in in for me. The flywheel was resurfaced. For another, the trany seems really hot to touch, never noticed this before.
IF I remember correctly, you went with the valair organic? Did you replace the hydraulics. If not I would recommend the prebled master and slave. My peddle went to the floor with the oem until I put the new hydraulics in.
I see you have an early 99. Did you upgrade to the stronger 01 fork? I'm getting ready for Dane Cook Isolated Incident show now, but will look into the part #'s I used later for you if you need them.
Yes, it has the Valair organic. I put a new pre-bled assembly in a year and half ago. Would that make a difference? Maybe they left the pushrod fall out the end of the slave cyl. when they removed it. I put the updated fork in as well, the previous owner did also, so I have a spare.
Need some input from the others who have put in the Valair. I know my friction point seemed to drop too close to the floor when I changed my clutch, but that was just from being a new clutch and I got used to it quickly.
My hydraulics failed within 10k miles of replacing the clutch, but they were original. Hindsight said I should have expected to replace them after a couple hundred thousand miles. With your hydraulics only being a year and a half old, I wouldn't expect yours to be an issue.
How often do you touch your tranny? Don't know what the new clutch would have to do with tranny temps unless the shop didn't connect the cooler lines properly and you're low on fluid, or they dropped the tranny and you've got a screwed up bearing on the input shaft.
I remember you talking about the upgraded kevlar pilot bushing, but just for clarification, you swapped out the pressure plate and throw out bearing too, right?

Yes the pilot and throw-out bearings came with the kit as well as a new pressure plate. I drove it a little more this evening and it seemed a little better, not wanting to creep when I put it in gear. Fluid level is ok, lines are where they should be. Never driven a vehicle with a brand new clutch so don't exactly know what to expect.
Oh, Valair states there pressure plates are 3400 lbs, stockers are 3000 lbs.
