One of these days, we should all tally up how much we've saved individually, either from knowledge or free parts, or roadside help...and start a big thread...in the end we can grand total it.
Lisa, that is a good idea for a thread. Lord knows I have saved a heck of a lot of $$$$ doing everything I did, with the help of some great people on here. Roland, Chris, Joe, just to say a few.
You will want a 1-1/8" socket (I think, it may be a 1") to pull the ICP Sensor out. It is VERY easy, more time to get your tools out than to do the switch. Mine was bad, lots of problems. When is your SES light on?

Depends on the sensor. At some point Ford changed them, there is an "old" style and a "new" style.
Bingo. I think Lisa nailed it. The dealer is selling you the new updated sensor. The old sensor requires a crows foot wrench to get out (you could probably get a regular wrench on there). New new updated sensor is shown in the pictures Chase posted. You can drop a socket down on the new style to install it. Tighten to 21 ft-lbs.
The new and old style sensor use the same plug connector on the end, so unless your wiring is bad or there are burnt/bent pins in your connector, leave it alone.

If you did that, then you should also start a thread about how much PMS has cost you what you discovered it was out there. Be interesting to find out how much we've been stimulating the economy.
Man, I checked ebay earlier today and the guy had 4. So, I submitted a B/O, just checked and he only had one left! I said to myself screw the BO and bought the last one.
Just wanted to thank you all once again, I just can not believe how much the dealer was going to charge me.
$185 for the sensor
98 for the "updated" harness 216 for labor !!!
$499 Total Tht's insane
I bought the part online for $99, that's $400 dollars saved
I'm definitely going to get a scan tool or something, then I wouldn't have had to pay the $128 to tell me the ICP sensor is out and my license plate illuminator bulb is blown (I wonder what they would have charged me to fix that?).
I don't think anyone answered the question "What is ICP sensor".
The ICP sensor senses the Injector Control Pressure. The ICP is the pressure delivered to the high pressure oil rails by the HPOP, which is the oil pressure needed to drive the plungers in the injectors to spray the fuel into the cylinders.

.
The worst is that labor. Takes about 5 minutes to change out, TOPS. That includes time spent looking for the right size wrench.

Yeah, and the only reason I know that is because I changed mine out, and they look completely different. I actually got an old style one for free, and replaced a newer style one that was on the truck (apparently the original owner had changed that sensor at some point).

Good point. But money saved is still money not spent..so its worth mentioning. I'd have to sit down and do the math before I could come up with an accurate number.
