Squealing brakes
I would be safe to bet that you, A; Bought cheap brakes, or
B; Have excessive brake dust, or
C; Couldn't finish the question cause you couldn't stop the truck in time.
Hopefully it's 'B'.
I typed the whole freak'n thing once...I checked that it posted, now it's gone. Nice!
Ok, '95 F150/302/auto I bought in Feb. Brakes were fine/quiet. Within the last month it got squealing BAD!! Figured the PO put cheap pads on I bought the "quality" pads and that lasted a day or so. It squeals horrible when first pressing pedal, then quiets as you add pressure to the pedal. I'm thinking I'll replace the hardware to see if it's the slide pins too worn and allowing the caliper to wobble on initial touch.
Truck just turned 80K miles, so it's not wore out. I do notice alot of brake dust on the alum. wheels. I've never had any disc brake issues before like this, so I'm wondering if anyone else had and what they did to correct it. It's really annoying around town.
