NP435-C6

I have a '76 F-250 4X4(highboy) with the 360 engine and Np 435 trans. I am planning on putting in a 460 with a C6. Has anyone ever done this swap? I'm sure I can find a C6 to mate to the 460 and I will have to shorten the driveshaft if I use a 2wd trans. Did any of these trucks come with a C6? If so I would like to find one to minimize fabrication. Any info would be appreciated.

you need a c-6 with a bolt on rear yoke i have one with a shortened shaft in my pull truck with the slip yoke rear and it works ok

hey flatliner, proford is right. you should find one with the bolt on yoke instead of the slip yoke. but they are far and few between from what i understand. i have a 6c that i would trade you fer yer manual tranny if yer interested. e-mail.
