get the special tools...you can get a set for about $20 from the local parts store...you need a 5/16" (return lines) and a 3/8" (feed lines)..you don't want to trash those fittings..
The two on the tank side were a simple push-button to release. Found info on those in my workshop manual. No tool required.
The engine side were a bit more difficult. When I shined the light just right, I saw there were prongs around the inside of the connection that snapped into place when the line was pushed home. I fashioned a circular bushing out of an old tin coffee can that I molded around the fuel line. When I pushed that into the connection, it released the prongs and the line popped free. So much for "special tools".
I wonder why they use two different types of connections on the HFCM lines.
I blew the pyro out of my exhaust manifold once..of course i was 300 miles from anywhere..a bent up spoon, some AL foil, and a hose clamp sealed it until I got home..
who knows why they use 2 different types...probably saves .3 minutes per vehicle during assy...
